Concept

The movement of the watch is a Russian-made mechanical 2609 Poljot with manual winding.

The watch case, now 40 mm wide, simple and minimalistic at first glance, possesses its own recognisable elegance Its classic lugs, bent down, make it very comfortable to wear the watch on the wrist. The spherical mineral glass with two radii makes the case visually slimmer.

The case of this model is simple in shape but highly harmonious at the same time. Its military shape is softened by the ergonomic curved lugs and most importantly - spherical glass.

Its thin bezel reveals a dial that also has a spherical shape, showcasing the shape of the glass. The clear and readable minute scale extends beyond the visible area of the dial, accentuating the elegance of the case bezel. Digitization of the dial is a distinctive feature of this model; its main design touches have not changed since the very first Gagarin series

The austere, long, curved hands complete the design of the watch and design of the collection while keeping the piece very functional.

The conical crown with convenient notches replicates the original model design.

Limited Edition 2021 is made with a silver dial. Each watch model has an individual number.

Details

For the first time, the dials of this limited edition collection are made of silver with a vertical polish. The dials are coated with clear lacquer ensuring corrosion protection. Each dial features a unique watch number.

The cases made of titanium and bronze are complemented by the matching shades of luminous material of the hands and dials: greenish for titanium and ochre for bronze.

The distinctive raven-black hands, filled with luminescent compound, also reproduce the original hands. Only the long curved seconds hand is bright red matching the five-point star on the dial.

The conical crown with a convex spherical top that echoes the shape of the front glass. The notch on the crown is large enough for easy use, and thanks to its smooth edges, it does not cause any discomfort during winding.

Digitization of the dial accurately reproduces the numbers of the very first Gagarin Sturmanskie watch. The numbers are applied with luminous material using relief printing and have a contrasting thin rim

On the back cover, traditionally for this collection, there is a relief portrait of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. This time, it is gold-plated, creating a contrast with the background of the relief.

The case back features deeply etched commemorative inscriptions: "1961-2021", "60 ЛЕТ ПОЛЕТУ “ВОСТОК-1” (60 YEARS OF THE VOSTOK-1 FLIGHT), “ПЕРВЫЕ ЧАСЫ В КОСМОСЕ" (THE FIRST WATCH IN SPACE), as well as the number of watch in the series.
